The iPhone 2.2 firmware update is now available for download. I haven't tested it out (still downloading), but it's purported to include enhanced stability for Safari, as well as a few other things.

  • Podcast downloading over wifi and the cellular network.
  • Google Maps now has streetview.
  • Safari enhancements, including stability and interface tweaks.
  • A few other tweaks to interface, shortcuts.
  • You can now turn off auto-correct if you prefer for typing.
The file is 245 MB, we'll see if Apple's servers melt down again Friday or if they are prepared for the onslaught this time.
